Deadline: 28 April 2019
The U.S. Mission in Morocco has launches its “Moonshot Morocco Youth Festival” open competition for awarding a cooperative agreement.
The Public Affairs Office invites proposals from Moroccan associations to organize activities, including lectures and interactive programs featuring Moroccan and American speakers, workshops, demos, and competitions, for a three-day, large-scale, youth-focused festival to be held in the Rabat-Sale or Casablanca areas in November 2019.
The Youth Festival is the capstone event for a larger series of U.S. Embassy-sponsored activities taking place throughout Morocco in 2019. This “Moonshot Morocco” initiative seeks to celebrate the 50th anniversary of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing by introducing Moroccan youth to advances in science, technology, and entrepreneurship; improving their leadership skills; and giving them the confidence and ability to take on innovative new projects. Both the Festival and the larger Moonshot Morocco initiative seek to accomplish this by showcasing U.S. and Moroccan advances, best practices, and leadership in science, technology, and entrepreneurship.
The Festival will feature both U.S. and Moroccan speakers and trainers, as well as booths that display new and promising technologies and innovative work by NGOs advancing the Moonshot Morocco themes. The awardee will work in close cooperation with the U.S. Embassy and an events planning company to design and execute Festival activities. The target audience for the Festival is 3,000 + students, recent graduates, or young professionals, age 17 – 35.
