The U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section in New Delhi is soliciting proposals from eligible U.S and Indian organisations for a project entitled “All-India Road Show on Women’s Economic Empowerment through Entrepreneurship”.
The U.S. Embassy New Delhi seeks to empower young women across the country to hone their entrepreneurial skills and seek out mentors (both Indian and American) to enable them to establish and develop sustainable businesses.
Funding Information: The grants for this proposal must fall between $100,000.00 to $125,000.00.
Program Priorities
- The program aims to provide practical tools, skills and mentorship opportunities to young Indian women entrepreneurs including those on the threshold of deciding career options to set up sustainable businesses.
- The program will connect women with American and Indian entrepreneurs both in person and virtually to help them overcome the challenges that are inevitable in the long road from an idea to establishing an enterprise.
- Through this program, a partnership will be formed between one U.S. and one Indian NGO/civil society organization/institution to organize 5 skill development entrepreneurship workshops and speaking tours in 5 second-tier cities of India (one each in North India and the four Consular districts of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata).
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility is open to all non-profit, non-governmental organizations. Individuals are not eligible for an award under this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
- Organizations may sub-contract with other entities, but only one, non-profit, non-governmental entity can be the prime recipient of the award.
- When sub-contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal.
- Cost sharing or Matching is not required for this funding opportunity.
- This award does not allow for construction activities or costs.
- The U.S. Embassy New Delhi grants/cooperative agreements cannot be used to fund religious or partisan political activity; fundraising campaigns; commercial projects; scientific research; projects whose primary aim is the institutional development of the organization, or illegal activities.
- Applicants must acquire all required registrations and rights in the United States and India.
- All intellectual property considerations and rights must be fully met in the United States and India.
