The UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Multi Country Office (MCO) for India, Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka is inviting civil society organisations to submit proposals for ‘A rapid assessment on the Implementation of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013.’
Objective
The main objective of the rapid assessment is to understand the gaps and challenges in the implementation of the criminal law amendments of 2013, access to and use of the amendments in the law. This assessment is expected to help in the following:
- Identifying, analysing and documenting changes in institutional response to violence against women and girls, including but not limited to the Health Sector and Law Enforcement agencies, including the Judiciary.
- Generating information and perspectives of change to strengthen response mechanisms, including access to justice for survivors of violence.
- Analysis of data and information on perspectives to develop new strategies, improve existing interventions and/or strengthen advocacy initiatives on Ending Violence against Women and Girls (EVAW/G)
Project Location
The primary data collection may be carried out in the states of:
- Andhra Pradesh,
- Assam
- Delhi
- Madhya Pradesh
- Maharashtra
- Rajasthan
- Telangana
Proposed Project Period
The Assessment will be conducted in 2 Months
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals can only be submitted by non-governmental organizations registered in India.
Expected Experience of Assessment Team
- The Assessment team must have at least 5 years of experience and offer the following demonstrated experience, knowledge and competencies:
- Members of the Assessment team must have specialisation in law and gender, social development and women’s rights;
- Recent experience with gender equality issues and knowledge of mainstreaming gender equality into policies/programming/development;
- Sound understanding of human rights based approaches;
- Facilitation skills, particularly design of qualitative and stakeholder consultations;
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis skills;
- Excellent analytical skills and communication skills;
- Demonstrated writing skills in English;
- The team will ensure that they build in time for effective translations so as to ensure people interviewed can clearly articulate their thoughts, experiences in a language of their choice
