Do you have an innovative idea related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene that can change the world? Are you passionate about reducing climate impacts through sustainable WASH solutions? Are you between the ages of 21-30 years old? If this sounds like you, then apply to be a UNICEF WASH Young Changemaker, and join for an exciting week of learning and networking at the Young Water Leaders Summit in Singapore in July!
UNICEF believes in the power of young people to change the world. They are looking for Young Changemakers with innovative Water, Sanitation and Hygiene solutions that will make a difference for children and their families across Asia Pacific.
This program is sponsored by UNICEF’s Regional Office for East Asia & Pacific, hence there is a focus on supporting young changemakers from the Asia Pacific region relating to work.
The purpose of this event is to support young people to attend the Young Water Leaders Summit, and to give them a platform to present their idea for feedback from UNICEF and other experts. There is no guarantee of additional funding from UNICEF at this time.
UNICEF is looking for solutions that:
- will have a positive impact on families, especially the most vulnerable.
- can help everyone access safe, affordable and sustainable WASH services.
- have the potential to reach scale.
- can tackle the region’s most daunting WASH challenges affecting families and children.

Top 10 Young Changemakers will receive:
- Fully-funded trip to Singapore to attend the Singapore Young Water Leaders Summit;
- 2 online mentoring sessions to help strengthen your idea and develop a pitch;
- Opportunity to present your idea to UNICEF, private sector and government leaders at a special one-day workshop before the Summit;
- Access to workshops, networking opportunities, and discussions on water industry, innovations and challenges at the Young Water Leaders Summit;
- Possibilities for further engagement with UNICEF to support and scale up your idea.
Eligibility Criteria
- You are between 21-30 years old;
- You are working in the water industry;
- You are developing an innovative WASH solution that impacts families, and want to share it with the world;
- You are comfortable communicating in English;
- You are a resident of a country in Asia Pacific;
- You are available to travel to Singapore between July 4-7, 2020.
