Entries are being accepted for Wiki Loves Earth Photo Contest in India, an international photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites around the world through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons).
There are a lot of natural heritage sites in India. The goal of Wiki Loves Earth is to encourage people to take pictures of those natural sites, and to put them under a free licence so that others may access them through the Internet. To achieve that, an international contest will take place from 01 June 2017 to 30 June 2017.
In June, participant may upload as many pictures as they want of natural sites they have visited. Pictures don’t have to be taken in June, but must be uploaded during that month to be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
- Participants:
- must submit two megapixel minimum image
- must be self-taken
- must be of a protected area (or its flora or fauna) in India
- must be appropriately described and categorized
- must be uploaded during 1st June -30th June 2017
- there is no age criterion
- Eligible Images
- All protected or listed areas along with its natural Flora or Fauna in India are within the scope of this competition.
- Ineligible Images
- Images with Watermark, Timestamp or image credits on the picture itself or any other kind of editing which associates the image with the uploader
- Images of Monuments/cities etc
- Non-photographic works such as drawings or entirely computer-generated works
- Photographs that are already on Commons (i.e., re-uploading is not allowed)
- As the images will be hosted on Wikimedia Commons, all entries must fall within Commons scope. Any that does not will be disqualified and may be deleted without notice.
