Deadline: 14-Sep-2025
Applications are now open for the 2025 Human Rights Prize of the French Republic, with this year’s theme focusing on the urgent issue of trafficking and exploitation of children.
Every year since 1988, the French National Consultative Commission on Human Rights (CNCDH) has awarded the Human Rights Prize to five grassroots projects promoting and/or protecting human rights. Five other projects are awarded a ‘Special Mention.
This prestigious award aims to recognize and support individuals and organizations dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights worldwide.
The 2025 edition of the prize focuses on projects addressing the exploitation and trafficking of children. This theme highlights the urgent need for initiatives that combat child labor, child trafficking, and other forms of exploitation affecting minors. Organizations and individuals engaged in such efforts are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must submit a comprehensive dossier in French, detailing their actions and projects related to the protection and promotion of human rights. The application should include a letter of application, the completed application form, and the postal address and bank details of the candidate.
The winners of the prize will receive a financial endowment and a medal, and they will be invited to a ceremony in Paris on December 10, 2025, to coincide with the United Nations Human Rights Day. This event provides an opportunity for laureates to meet with French government officials and civil society representatives.
