Deadline: 25-Jul-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is now accepting applications for the initiative Protecting Children in Humanitarian Crises. This call for expression of interest is aimed at engaging community-based civil society organizations (CSOs) to help empower adolescent girls and boys, strengthen their resilience, and provide them with skills to challenge harmful norms and practices.
The initiative will also support the development and reinforcement of community-based child protection structures. These structures will be responsible for identifying, reporting, responding to, and referring cases of abuse and violence, especially those affecting girls and women, including adolescent girls at risk of or in situations of early marriage.
The expected outcomes include the organization of five coordination meetings and the development of a detailed implementation plan. A total of 150 social workers, both from community-based protection structures and auxiliary roles, will be trained.
As part of the project, 200 dignity kits will be distributed, along with 500 printed IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials. Ten community dialogue sessions will be conducted, reaching 5,000 participants. Fifty referral directories will be produced, and 50 staff members trained in their use.
The project aims to reach 1,000 girls and boys who have experienced violence, ensuring they access necessary health, social work, and legal support services. Additionally, 150 girls and women will receive vocational and entrepreneurship skills training.
Another key goal is to empower 1,000 boys and girls by giving them access to sexual and reproductive health knowledge and services, life skills, and comprehensive case management support. Four human interest stories will be documented through high-quality photographs, and 10 monitoring visits will be conducted, with reports produced for each.
