Deadline: 29-Aug-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Pacific Multi-Country Office is inviting eligible Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to enter into a contingency agreement aimed at addressing the urgent needs of children and communities during emergencies in Pacific countries. This call covers multiple sectors, including health, education, nutrition, WASH, protection, and social policy, with a strong focus on emergency preparedness, response, and risk reduction.
CSOs may receive up to USD 300,000 per country, with the contingency program valid for six months following activation. UNICEF’s goal is to deliver timely and effective interventions that promote child health, nutrition, education continuity, protection, and equitable access to basic services in emergencies.
In the health and nutrition sectors, activities will include vaccination campaigns, antenatal care, distribution of health and nutrition supplies, support for breastfeeding and infant feeding, and micronutrient supplementation. For WASH, the response focuses on distributing hygiene kits, safe drinking water, and restoring or installing accessible and gender-responsive sanitation facilities, particularly in schools and health care centers.
Education responses will support emergency assessments, create safe learning spaces, distribute learning kits, and train teachers on psychosocial support. Child protection efforts involve setting up Child-Friendly Spaces, delivering psychosocial support, facilitating family tracing, ensuring legal identity through birth registration, and distributing child protection materials.
UNICEF also plans to provide top-up cash grants under social protection and drive inclusive messaging, digital outreach, and community engagement through its social behavior change strategy. Accountability and feedback mechanisms, especially those accessible to adolescents and girls, are also prioritized.
The geographic scope includes countries and territories such as Kiribati, Niue, Fiji, Tokelau, Tonga, Cook Islands, Samoa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Micronesia, Palau, and Tuvalu. To be eligible, CSOs must be registered in their operational countries and not be listed on UN sanctions lists. Incomplete or late submissions, or those lacking required documentation, will be excluded from the selection process.
