The Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) that have experience in nutrition, early childhood development, preschool institutions and public health are invited to submit proposals.
The purpose of the Call for Expression of Interest is to identify eligible Civil Society Organisations for prospective partnership with UNICEF North Macedonia.

Expected Results
- UNICEF is seeking to identify potential partners who would develop training modules on nutrition for staff working at kindergartens. The partners will be expected to work in coordination with the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Institute of Public Health, the Bureau for Development of Education and nutrition researchers from academia.
- The expected deliverables are:
- Training modules on healthy nutrition habits in early childhood
- Develop training modules for staff working at kindergartens, with focus on healthy nutrition, aimed to:
- Increase the knowledge of staff at kindergartens on healthy nutrition and nutrition habits, how they are related to child health, development, learning, quality of life and life outcomes, and the role of kindergartens in ensuring adequate nutrition and promoting healthy nutrition habits in children and families.
- Develop materials and pedagogical approaches for teaching young children about nutrition, modelling and reinforcing good nutrition habits during mealtimes, practical interventions and activities that can be implemented at the kindergarten, in line with the National Early Learning and Development Programme.
- Develop practical information materials and advice that can be shared with parents in order to foster development of healthy nutrition habits.
- Develop training modules for staff working at kindergartens, with focus on healthy nutrition, aimed to:
- Piloting of the training modules through training for staff at kindergartens
- Once the training modules have been developed, they will need to be piloted in a select number of kindergartens, through trainings for relevant staff. Based on the feedback and findings from the piloting, the training modules will be updated and finalized.
- The partner should elaborate a system that can be used to monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the training programme.
- Scale-up of the nutrition training for staff at kindergartens
- Once the modules have been finalised, the training will be delivered to all kindergartens throughout the country, based on the materials, methodology and the monitoring and evaluation system finalised after the piloting. The partner is required to elaborate what the mechanism for the scale-up throughout the country will be.
- Training modules on healthy nutrition habits in early childhood
Indicators
- Nutrition training modules developed, in line with criteria specified;
- Number of kindergartens participating in the piloting (3 kindergartens)
- Percentage of staff completing the training (>70%);
- The approximate duration of the intervention is 14 months.

Eligibility Criteria
CSO must:
- be registered in North Macedonia.
- not be an entity named on any of the UN Security Council targeted sanction lists.
Ineligibility Criteria
- CSO submission which:
- are sent in any other way than through the UNPP;
- are not sent within the specified deadline;
- do not include all required documents duly completed and signed or do not comply with specifications set in this Call for Expression of Interest;
- are not submitted in English;
- will be excluded from the selection process.
