Deadline: 17-Jul-2025
UNICEF has launched a call for expressions of interest to implement an integrated intervention package in Cameroon’s East and Adamaoua regions. The initiative focuses on improving education, protection, water, hygiene, sanitation, climate change adaptation, and social policies for children.
The sectors involved include general education, out-of-school education, and skills development for adolescents. Protection priorities range from birth registration and child protection to gender-based violence prevention and support services. Social policy and advocacy areas cover public finance, local governance, and social protection. Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) components will address sanitation, hygiene, water access, and natural resource management.
By 2028, the intervention aims to ensure that all targeted schools offer safe, quality learning environments. It also intends to raise parental awareness of school enrollment and retention. The program will work toward universal access to basic drinking water and sanitation services, and equip children and adolescents with hygiene and menstrual health skills.
Birth registration systems in health facilities and communities will be strengthened, ensuring timely issuance of birth certificates. Child protection and welfare services will be improved, along with community-based mechanisms.
The initiative also seeks to mobilize children, families, teachers, and community leaders in protecting children’s rights, preventing gender-based violence, child marriage, and exploitation, and supporting children with disabilities.
Eligible organizations must demonstrate sector expertise, resource contribution, alignment with the expected results, UN partnership experience, project sustainability, and strong management capabilities.
