Deadline: 06-Sep-2025
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is seeking grant applications to support the delivery of essential protection services, including early childhood development, primary, secondary, and tertiary education, child protection, community-based protection, gender-based violence prevention and response, legal protection, complementary pathways, voluntary repatriation, and linkage to livelihoods.
The programme focuses on education, protection, child protection, gender-based violence, legal assistance, and general protection. It aims to promote gender equality by fostering positive attitudes and behaviours that prevent gender-based violence and create safer, more inclusive environments, particularly for women and girls. This includes implementing GBV prevention and response initiatives such as case management, community awareness campaigns to encourage positive social norms, and improving access to safety and justice.
The initiative also strengthens community-based protection by encouraging refugees and asylum seekers to actively participate in transparent decision-making processes that promote peaceful coexistence, build partnerships, and ensure fair access to resources and services. It supports community-led projects designed to enhance social cohesion and foster harmony between refugees and host communities. The funding is available for projects in Uganda’s central region.
