The National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD), Ministry of Environment (MoE) with support from Japan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have launched the Innovation Challenge for “#BeatPlastic Campaign”. This challenge calls for innovative ideas for awareness raising campaigns to change behaviors to fight plastic pollution.
The Challenge is looking for innovative campaigns that deploy creative modes of communications and demonstrate robust measures to assess their effectiveness and impacts on behavioral change.
This project is implemented in six cities / provinces including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, Kep, Kampot and Koh Kong.
Categories
The Innovation Challenge calls for applications from all passionate and environmentally conscious individuals, youth groups, local NGOs, community-based organizations, event organizers, and private firms to apply for one of the four categories below with a specific target group:
- Primary school students from grade 1 to 6 (age under 12);
- Youth (age 15 to 30);
- Garment sector: including garment, textile, and footwear / traveling goods; and
- Private sector (excluding the garment sector): including, but not limited to, hospitality, food & beverages, tourism, banking and finance, insurance, telecommunications, and housing development.
Funding Information
Your innovative idea can be rewarded up to USD 18,000 per campaign!
Eligibility Criteria
- Campaign ideas including objectives, approaches and activities, which must address one of the four categories
- Proven experience in designing and running at least one online / offline awareness raising campaign
- Capability to implement the proposed campaign (eg human resources, and technical equipment)
- Acknowledgment of the Innovation Challenge’s terms and conditions before submitting the application(s)
Selection Criteria
- Demonstration of innovativeness in designing plastic awareness raising campaign with focus on behavior change
- Demonstration of high campaign management competency
- Potential positive impacts and contributions to improved knowledge and behavior change on plastic toward 4Rs
- Awardee in each category shall meet UNDP’s due diligence process when and if required in order to be finally awarded the Innovation Challenge fund.
