Deadline: 30-Nov-2025
The Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens to take part in the Mascot Making Competition.
The aim of this competition is to encourage creative public engagement and spread awareness on adoption of children with special needs (Divyaang children).
Themes for Mascot Design: Non-institutionalised Rehabilitation of Children with Special Needs (Divyaang Children), Every Child Deserves a Loving Family, Special Parenting for Children with Special Needs, #EveryChildMatters.
The competition seeks to inspire individuals to design a mascot that symbolises love, care, protection, and the right of every child—especially those with special needs—to grow up in a safe and nurturing family environment. A thoughtfully designed mascot can become a powerful and lasting symbol for advocacy, campaign visibility, and outreach, representing hope, inclusivity, and equal opportunity for all children.
The mascot should embody the essence of adoption awareness by promoting the eradication of myths and shifting mindsets. CARA envisions a character that is friendly, relatable, and appealing to people of all ages and genders—an iconic figure that is simple, memorable, and impactful.
The design should reflect the theme of Adoption Awareness Month 2025 and help raise awareness about the legal process of adoption. Participants are encouraged to create mascots that can be presented in both colour and grayscale versions with front and side views to ensure adaptability across platforms.
Each participant can submit a minimum of one and a maximum of three mascot designs. The competition is open to all Indian citizens residing in India, and the top fifteen winners will receive a reward of Rs. 3000 each.
This initiative encourages artists, designers, and citizens to put their imagination to work and create a mascot that can become the face of change, inclusion, and family for every child who needs one. It is an opportunity to contribute to a cause that promotes love, acceptance, and the belief that every child matters.
Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, simplicity, relatability, and alignment with the theme. Participants must submit their mascot design in high-resolution JPG or PNG format with a minimum of 300 DPI and a file size not exceeding 4 MB. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide editable source files such as AI, PSD, SVG, or CDR formats for final evaluation.
The deadline for applications is 30 November 2025.
