Deadline: 27-Oct-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a new call for proposals to identify a cooperating partner responsible for third-party monitoring of its operations across multiple regions of Burkina Faso in 2026.
The initiative will cover the Sahel, Centre-Nord, Nord, Southwest, and Boucle du Mouhoun regions—areas where WFP continues to provide essential humanitarian and development assistance amid ongoing food insecurity, displacement, and climate-related challenges.
This partnership aims to strengthen transparency, accountability, and the effectiveness of WFP’s programmes through independent and systematic monitoring. The selected partner will play a critical role in evaluating WFP’s interventions, collecting field data, verifying implementation, and ensuring that assistance reaches the most vulnerable communities in an efficient and equitable manner.
WFP’s operations in Burkina Faso encompass a broad range of sectors. In education, efforts focus on education in emergencies and the provision of school meals to encourage attendance and improve nutrition among children in crisis-affected areas. In food security, the organization delivers both direct food assistance and food-for-assets programmes, helping communities meet immediate needs while building resilience through community-based projects. WFP also undertakes food security and market analyses to guide evidence-based decision-making and ensure effective targeting of aid.
In the area of nutrition, WFP’s interventions address multiple aspects of malnutrition prevention and treatment, with a strong emphasis on infant and young child feeding and nutrition in emergencies. These programmes are designed to improve dietary diversity, support maternal and child health, and prevent life-threatening undernutrition among vulnerable populations.
Through this call, WFP seeks a capable and experienced partner to provide independent, high-quality monitoring and verification services that can inform strategic adjustments, enhance accountability to beneficiaries and donors, and contribute to the continuous improvement of WFP’s humanitarian response in Burkina Faso. The selected organization will be instrumental in ensuring that WFP’s operations deliver measurable impact and foster long-term resilience across the targeted regions.
