Deadline: 19-Aug-2025
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is inviting applications for initiatives focused on protection, case management, reintegration, and livelihoods support for vulnerable populations in Venezuela. The call supports a wide range of sectors, emphasizing both emergency response and long-term solutions.
Key cross-sectoral areas include emergency preparedness, gender equality, youth leadership, training and capacity development, research, and monitoring and evaluation. Projects should also aim to strengthen community resilience and promote durable solutions like integration and reintegration into local communities.
Livelihood support is a major component, with a focus on self-reliance, microfinance, vocational training, and fostering peaceful coexistence between refugees and host populations. Projects may also include support for technical education and access to sustainable income-generating activities.
Protection-related activities are encouraged and may include access to asylum, birth registration, legal assistance, support for survivors of gender-based violence, and child protection services. Initiatives that improve registration, profiling, and general protection mechanisms are also eligible.
Logistics and shelter needs are part of the scope, covering supply distribution, inventory management, and shelter construction or reconstruction. Non-food items related to shelter and household needs are included in this category.
Social policy and advocacy initiatives are welcomed, particularly those promoting stronger safety nets and policies that protect displaced individuals and support their inclusion in national systems.
The impact areas of the initiative include improving access to documentation and protection services, promoting social cohesion in host communities, ensuring well-being through tailored support, and facilitating sustainable reintegration pathways for affected individuals.
Projects must be implemented in Venezuela, across targeted states including Sucre, La Guaira, Amazonas, Bolivar, Tachira, Apure, Barinas, Zulia, Falcon, Merida, Miranda, Aragua, and Carabobo.
