Deadline: 14-Sep-2025
The Embassy of Switzerland in Indonesia is offering a meaningful chance for non-profit civil society organizations in Indonesia and Timor-Leste to secure funding for modest-scale projects that aim to promote gender equality in rural communities or enhance essential services at the local level.
With grant allocations of up to IDR 260,000,000 (approximately USD 16,000) available for gender-related initiatives and up to IDR 400,000,000 (around USD 24,000) for projects that improve basic services, this funding opportunity seeks to catalyze positive change in remote and underserved regions.
Projects must be implemented over a period of up to eight months and should serve populations in rural areas such as Sumatra, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Maluku, Sulawesi, and all provinces of Timor-Leste. The intended beneficiaries are disadvantaged and marginalized groups, including women, children living in extreme poverty, single parents, and minority communities. The emphasis is clearly on meaningful, locally grounded interventions that can make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
Organizations that align with the thematic and geographic focus are invited to submit their applications through the online form and must include a completed budget proposal and a scanned copy of their legal registration. Additional documents such as annual reports and audit records are optional, though they may be requested. Only shortlisted applicants will proceed to the interview stage, and unsuccessful applicants should note that only one project per organization will be supported to encourage broader participation.
Once the funding decisions are made in mid-December 2025 and contracts are signed in early 2026, projects are expected to start no later than February 1, 2026, and conclude by November 30, 2026 (with Timor-Leste projects ending by October 31, 2026). Final reporting that includes both narrative and budget details must be completed before the end of the project — ensuring accountability and enabling the Embassy to assess impact before releasing the final disbursement.
This funding scheme represents a valuable opportunity for grassroots organizations to initiate or expand impactful work in regions where support is often scarce, and where targeted interventions can lead to meaningful improvements in gender equality, education, health, livelihoods, and financial inclusion.
