Deadline: 11-Aug-2025
Derbyshire County Council Public Health has funded Derbyshire Voluntary Action to deliver a Health and Wellbeing Grant for Bolsover, Chesterfield, and North East Derbyshire. This grant supports not-for-profit voluntary and community groups to fund projects or activities that benefit local communities and improve health and wellbeing.
Projects should help children and young people in Derbyshire to get a good start and address child poverty. They should also support good mental health, tackle major health risk factors such as poor diet, smoking, inactivity, and alcohol use, and help communities become more resilient and independent.
Activities should aim to build stronger communities, encourage social connections, reduce loneliness, and promote overall wellbeing, especially for children, families, and older people. Initiatives that enhance community learning or skills and support emotional wellbeing are also welcome.
Eligible groups can apply for up to £1,000 under the Derbyshire Voluntary Action Health and Wellbeing Grant Scheme. Projects should aim for outcomes like increased social connections, a stronger sense of belonging, reduced stress and anxiety, improved mental health, more physical activity, and healthy eating.
To qualify, groups must be non-profit, based in or delivering activities in the target areas. They must have a management committee, a governing document, a bank account in the group’s name, and provide signed accounts or financial estimates if newly formed. Relevant insurance and safeguarding or governance policies are also required, or a written confirmation if a third party will cover insurance.
