Deadline: 05-Sep-2025
The CGN Community Benefit Fund supports community, voluntary, and not-for-profit organisations located near windfarms. It is dedicated to uniting communities, encouraging active participation, and creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Beyond fostering community spirit, the fund also promotes environmental sustainability, climate action, and biodiversity preservation.
Grants of up to €2,000 are available for projects that strengthen community development and inclusivity. Priority is given to initiatives that enhance engagement in community life, build shared identity, support vulnerable groups such as older adults, lone parents, and people with disabilities, and assist children, young people, and members of new or Traveller communities. Heritage, arts, and environmental projects focusing on climate action and biodiversity are also encouraged.
Eligible projects must target at least one priority area, present clear and realistic costs and timelines, and align with the fund’s mission. Successful applicants agree to terms such as six-monthly reporting and possible site visits. Projects covering ongoing core costs, religious or political activities, animal welfare, or those taking place outside the Republic of Ireland will not be considered.
Applicants must be registered charities or local community/voluntary groups with up-to-date governing documents, annual accounts, a dedicated bank account, charitable aims, and a not-for-profit model. They must also operate within the windfarm’s local area. Statutory bodies, for-profit companies, organisations outside the Republic of Ireland, and individuals are not eligible to apply.
