07-09 July 2021 – training “Trial Monitoring and Advocacy for Child-friendly Justice”, organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and the Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Location – Dnipropetrovsk region).
To strengthen the capacity of civil society to conduct trial monitoring of cases concerning minor’s rights in line with international practices, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine in co-operation with the Ombudsperson will conduct a training for 20 civil society representatives.
The special focus will be on advocacy component of trial monitoring as a powerful tool to persuade or influence those in positions of power to adopt and implement policies or practices that can yield a more human rights compliant and effective justice system.
Participants of the trainings will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- international standards and best practices of trial monitoring;
- child-friendly justice standards;
- methodology for monitoring trials in cases involving children;
- advocacy for child-friendly justice.
