Deadline: 17-Oct-2025
The Wiltshire & Swindon Community Foundation is offering Community Grants of up to £5,000 per year for up to three years to voluntary organizations serving local communities in Wiltshire and Swindon.
These grants are specifically aimed at helping grassroots groups and small-to-medium-sized organizations that work with low-income individuals or are particularly impacted by rising living costs.
Preference is given to projects that tackle poverty, inequality, and mental health challenges, and those that support children and young people. However, the foundation recognizes that community groups are best placed to understand their local needs and remains open to projects addressing other priority areas identified by applicants themselves.
Organizations new to fundraising are encouraged to apply without hesitation. The foundation supports newcomers by offering follow-up calls to walk them through application steps and alleviate concerns about the process. This supportive approach ensures that all groups, regardless of experience level, can confidently access funding.
Eligible applicants include constituted voluntary or community organizations, registered charities, and not-for-profit companies such as community interest companies, provided they operate locally in Wiltshire or Swindon and have independent governance structures. To apply, groups must demonstrate financial transparency and include documents such as a constitution, financial records, a bank account with dual signatories, and basic policies like safeguarding and equal opportunities. The Foundation offers assistance to applicants lacking certain documentation and may consider applications through partner charities to promote inclusion.
The Community Grants programme offers a valuable opportunity for local groups to secure funding and support that can drive meaningful change—especially in addressing social challenges, enhancing mental wellbeing, and improving outcomes for children and young people in the region.
