Deadline: 25-Nov-2025
The dynamic opportunity is now available for small-to-medium civil society organisations (CSOs) in the Arab region through a major five-year flagship programme launched by the Non‑Governmental Organizations Initiative (NGOi) at American University of Beirut (AUB).
The initiative, known as the Arab Alliance for CSO Development (AACSOD), offers a fully supported, no-fee institutional strengthening track that runs for 12 to 18 months — designed to enhance organisational capacities, governance, monitoring & evaluation systems, strategy and operational excellence.
Participating CSOs will receive tailored mentoring, expert-led training in Arabic and English (and sometimes French), and voluntary certification of their internal practices. The programme emphasises contextualisation for the Arab region, leveraging local experts and knowledge sharing networks to build a sustainable path forward. It is especially suited for a CSO seeking to move beyond project-based work into structured institutional growth, with external support for management systems, capacity building and organisational development.
To be eligible for this opportunity, an organisation must be legally registered, non-profit/NGO in nature, have already implemented at least one project or operated for a minimum period (typically two years), serve communities in the target country, and demonstrate readiness to dedicate internal team time and effort toward internal change. The values of diversity, equity, inclusion, respect for human rights and accountability are integral to the programme. Successful applicants are selected via a rigorous process, involving self-assessment, expert review, ongoing monitoring and a structured performance improvement plan.
For CSOs that qualify, this programme offers a strategic turning point. It brings the chance to deepen organisational credibility, operational effectiveness and sustainability in a region where civil society is evolving rapidly. It is not simply training; it is a structured transformation process that can enable an organisation to step into a stronger institutional role, access new partnerships and deliver greater impact to its community.
