The Civil Society Urban Development Platform (CSUDP) is currently accepting proposals from eligible urban Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for a programme entitled “Organizing, influencing and inspiring civic competencies towards equitable and just urban societies”. The Programme seeks to reverse urban inequalities through promoting just and fair access to urban services and building resilience of the disadvantaged urban majority.
This programme is a component for small grants to be awarded on competitive basis to eligible urban Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kenya.

Eligibility Criteria
- Medium Grants Project:
- Basic:
- CSO application must correspond to the thematic area(s)
- CSO must demonstrate history of work in the thematic area of choice for a period not less than three years
- CSO should be registered (or in the process of being registered) in the CSUDP Urban CSOs database
- CSO with a past working relationship with CSUDP and not currently in the database will be registered in the CSOs database
- Governance and Management:
- CSO must be fully registered in Kenya and in compliance with NGO Board / NGO Council requirements (or PBO Act, when such shall have become effective)
- CSO must have in place credible governance and management structures
- CSO must posses unqualified annual audit reports for the last three financial years
- CSOs must not have been involved in any form of malpractices and have a good standing in the target community
- CSOs must be a going concern and must not at any one time been declared insolvent by any competent authority
- CSO must have in place appropriate financial accounting systems

- CSO application must correspond to the thematic area(s) secified in table 1 of these guidelines
- CSOs should be affiliated to a particular Local Urban Forum
- CSO should be registered (or in the process of being registered) in the CSUDP Urban CSOs database
- CSOs application must build on an ongoing initiative to leverage more value
- CSOs application must be endorsed by the Local Urban Forum
- Governance and Management:
- CSOs must have a proven legal registration status issued by a competent public authority
- CSO must show proof of a local functional office structure in an identifiable physical location in Kenya
- CSOs should demonstrate conformity to all the legal requirements assigned to the form of registration

How to Apply
- The submission procedure consists of two stages:
- PreProposals (Concepts)
- Full Proposals.
- Only successful concepts will be invited to submit full proposals.
