The Tamkeen project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has announced a Calls for proposals to support civil society initiatives to support the implementation of the sectoral vision of youth in 2nd generation youth centers.
The sectoral vision of youth (2018-2020) aims to create an environment conducive to the emergence of a young citizen, qualified and autonomous, fulfilled and socially committed. The model is that of the young citizen, entrepreneur and creative, independent and mobile, committed to public interest and actively participating in public life and in the process of development.
Objectives
The overall objective of this call-for-proposal is to involve civil society organizations in the implementation of the sectoral vision of youth (2018-2020) at the local level and more particularly in second-generation youth houses, taking care to be part of the global approach participation in the achievement of the SDGs.
More specifically, it aims to strengthen:
- The role of CSOs in disseminating the sectoral vision of youth, developed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the achievement of the SDGs;
- Their contribution in the concretisation and the appropriation, at the local level, of the vision youth sector, according to their field of intervention (employment, culture, education, etc.);
- Support to CSOs in establishing sustainable partnerships with youth centers, in order to that they integrate and work towards social cohesion and the development of their direct environment; particularly in the framework of the Sustainable Development Strategies of the Cities (SDV) 2030 established by the municipalities and the various local actors concerned, support with UNDP ;
- Support of CSOs to youth centers to involve users, especially young people, in the new model of governance and the programmatic management of the house of youth.
Areas of Interventions
Depending on their area of intervention, CSOs will need to build sustainable partnerships with second generation young people around the following axes:
- Promote the citizenship of young people, through a better appropriation of their constitution, a increase their participation in political and associative life, and by promoting volunteering;
- Strengthen the mobility of young people by promoting their cultural, artistic and sports development, while sensitizing them to democratic values and encouraging societal relations peaceful and constructive, to prevent the temptation of violent extremism;
- Promote youth entrepreneurship by building their capacity and skills to they are better equipped to apprehend the labor market;
- Support young people in the development of their talents and promote their creativity and their inventiveness.
Funding Information
The associative projects carried by associations domiciled in the governorates of Gabes, Medenine, Tataouine, Kairouan, Sousse and Jendouba have priority.
- Budget: between 25,000 and 30,000 TND per project;
- Associations that have already implemented projects in partnership with UNDP can submit projects of 50,000 TND;
- Execution period: 9 months for projects of 25,000 to 30,000 TND and 12 months for projects of 50,000 TND;
- The area of intervention and implementation of project activities must be in the domiciliation governorate of the requesting association;
- A partnership with a 2nd generation youth center is mandatory;
- A project may not cover more than one youth center;
- Bidders must submit the Concept Note (Annex 2a) for projects of 30,000 TND or less and the Full Application Form (Annex 2) for projects of 50,000 TND.
Eligible Applicants
The applicant must meet the following conditions in order to qualify for a grant:
- Being a civil society organization whose headquarters and activities are based in the governorate in which the project will be executed;
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action and not be limited to one intermediary role;
- Be independent of political parties / movements.
