The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking proposals for its “Increase Roma women engagement into cooperation with local authorities using CEDAW, Optional Protocol and Concluding observations as advocacy tools.”
UN Women work in Ukraine focuses on supporting the government and civil society in advancing gender equality and implementation of the national and international commitments.
The selected CSO/Company will conduct series of events and develop public awareness materials on CEDAW, the Optional Protocol and the Committee’s general recommendations targeting Roma women, toenhance Roma women’s awareness of their rights under the Convention the Optional Protocol, use the Committee’s Concluding Observations for cooperation with local authorities.
Target groups
- Roma women activists and mediators
- Roma women and men, girls and boys in hromadas (communities);
- Local government representatives, representatives of state institutions and state service providers in pilot communities;
- Roma women’s civil society organizations
Eligibility Criteria
- Officially registered legal entity as per Ukraine’s regulations;
- At least 3 years of experience of work on Roma women human rights;
- Possession of technical and human resources for successful implementation of the assignment:
- The entity is expected to assign a special team dedicated for the assignments; and
- The team shall compose of a team leader; at least two human rights experts with an experience working with Roma women, CEDAW, Optional Protocol application to achieve tasks and write up report; accountant.
- Requirements to the team leader:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in social science, law, or other relevant areas;
- Sound experience supporting evidence-based Roma women human rights advocacy initiatives;
- Solid experience working with the rights of and for Roma women;
- Working knowledge of English, Ukrainian, Russian and Romani languages.
- Requirements to the expertson the Roma women human rights:
- Experience working with the Roma women and protection of Roma women human rights;
- Experience of conducting the similar assignments;
- Knowledge of Ukrainian, English and Romani languages.
