Deadline: 31-May-2026
The Banyule City Council is offering its Monthly Equipment Grants to support not-for-profit community groups in providing essential services to the local community.
With a total annual pool of $50,000, these grants aim to help groups purchase minor equipment that enhances service delivery and improves health and safety for staff, volunteers, and participants. Individual grant requests of up to $2,000 will be considered.
Eligible applicants include incorporated associations, auspiced not-for-profit community groups, public companies limited by guarantee (not-for-profit), and charities or benevolent trusts. Applicants must have a formal structure with office bearers and a bank account, provide services to Banyule residents (or ensure residents are the main beneficiaries if located outside the municipality), have been operational for at least 12 months, hold Public Liability Insurance up to $20 million, and provide financial statements. Applicants must also provide an ABN or auspice ABN, or be willing to complete a “Statement by Supplier.”
Certain applicants are not eligible for funding.Educational and religious organisations may only apply if the project meets a clear community need and provides broader community benefit. Projects cannot be curriculum-based or focused solely on students or congregation members. Groups promoting gambling, operating with a deficit, with outstanding grant acquittals, or with debts to Council are also ineligible.
This grant provides a valuable opportunity for community organisations to access funding for equipment that supports their programs, enhances safety, and improves the overall quality of services for Banyule residents.
