Deadline: 22-Aug-2025
Applications are now open for the Powerlink Community Grants program, designed to support community projects, events, and activities that align with Powerlink’s commitment to sustainable communities and economic development. The program focuses on short-term, one-off initiatives that deliver meaningful community outcomes.
Funding is available for projects that promote sustainable communities by strengthening community resilience, improving social capacity, enhancing safety and wellbeing, and supporting local environmental initiatives. Projects that contribute to economic development, including tourism, skills training, and job readiness, are also supported.
To be considered, applicants must provide proof of public liability insurance. Additionally, any goods or services quoted over $5,000 require formal documentation.
Eligible projects include those that encourage community participation, cultural or local events, organizational development, tools to enhance services, training programs, skills development activities, educational resources, infrastructure upgrades, and cultural or resilience-building initiatives.
However, projects are ineligible if they have already started or are completed, benefit only individuals, involve fundraising or donation campaigns, or are linked to gambling, politics, or religious campaigning. Ongoing funding needs, staff wages, high-risk or unsafe activities, and government core business functions are also excluded. Any proposal misaligned with Powerlink’s values will not be funded.
To apply, the applicant must be a community group, club, or not-for-profit organization with an incorporated legal status or be auspiced by one. They must have a valid public liability insurance policy of at least $10 million and other necessary coverage. Projects must be completed within 12 months and take place in Queensland.
Applications will be considered ineligible if submitted by entities that are not legal or auspiced entities, are for-profit businesses, political groups, or individuals.
