Deadline: 17-May-2026
The Community Group Activity Grants offer funding support to small non-profit community groups and organizations engaged in activities that benefit their members and strengthen local connections. These groups may focus on areas such as health and wellbeing, prevention of family violence, gender equity, social support, sports and recreation, environmental sustainability, climate change, arts, culture, and heritage.
Grants of up to $1,500 are available. The funding can be used for regular group activities, events, celebrations, or programs that bring value to members or encourage broader community involvement. It can also support fundraising events, participation in national or international events for competitively selected teams or groups, and the purchase of specialized equipment for sports or arts groups. Eligible expenses may include transport, refreshments, venue hire, and other day-to-day costs associated with running group activities.
To qualify, groups must be non-profit and volunteer-run, operating in Greater Dandenong or a nearby municipality. Activities must take place within the specified financial year. Applicants must provide evidence of their membership numbers and confirm that a portion of members reside in the City of Greater Dandenong. A bank account in the group’s name is required, or the group must be auspiced. Groups applying for $500 or more must be legal entities, such as an incorporated association or trust. Compliance with previous grant conditions is also necessary.
Applications will be considered ineligible if the group has an annual income exceeding $250,000, has already received a Small Grants Program grant in the same financial year, or has been granted funding for specialized equipment or costumes in the last three years. Grant funds cannot be used for office electronics, salaries, or payments to group members.
