Deadline: 27-Aug-2025
Devonport City Council is inviting applications for its Minor Grant Program to support organisations undertaking one-off projects, events, and activities. The program aims to help community groups enhance the liveability, health, and wellbeing of the Devonport community.
Grants of up to $3,000 are available for projects that focus on areas such as community development, community facilities, cultural development, cultural heritage, economic development, sport, recreation, healthy living, and festivals or events. Applicants must show that their project serves the public interest and addresses significant community needs while aligning with Council priorities.
Projects that seek funding cannot cover ongoing operational expenses like salaries, rent, fuel, administration, cleaning, gardening, or insurance. Funding is also not available for activities that have already started or for prize money, trophies, or travel to competitions, performances, or conferences.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit community organisations or associations legally incorporated or operating under an incorporated body. They must either be located within the Devonport local government area or demonstrate that their project benefits residents in the area. Applicants must have public liability insurance, no outstanding debts to the Council, and have completed any previous grant reporting requirements.
Applications from government agencies, for-profit entities, or organisations with unresolved grant acquittals will not be considered. Applications will be assessed based on their demonstrated community need and benefit, alignment with Council priorities, evidence of community support or partnerships, potential to increase organisational self-sufficiency, value for money including contributions from the applicant or others, and the capacity to complete the project successfully.
