Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
Applications are now open for the Australian Embassy in Addis Ababa’s Direct Aid Program (DAP), a small grants initiative that supports local communities in delivering practical and immediate projects that promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth and development.
Funded by the Australian Government and managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through its Embassies, High Commissions, and Consulates, DAP offers funding on a not-for-profit basis to community groups, NGOs, research institutions, and other development-focused entities.
The program supports projects in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Djibouti, and the Central African Republic. For 2025–26, they welcome proposals in areas such as agriculture, food security, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, health services, education, women’s and girls’ sexual and reproductive health rights, gender equality, disability and social inclusion, governance, peacebuilding, and human rights.
While there is no minimum funding amount, each project can receive up to AUD 60,000 over its lifetime. Activities may run for a maximum of two years.
