The Electronic Recycling Association is pleased to announce its Scholarship for full-time or part-time students in Canada, giving them the opportunity to gain experience, build their resume, and win a scholarship to help with their schooling.
The objective of the competition is to have students come up with a marketing plan to collect e-waste in their area. They need students to come up with a marketing plan and collect e-waste in their area. Participants will manage every detail from the planning and promoting to the execution, and the team at ERA will evaluate their work after the deadline to pick the winner. To collect items, participants can get people and businesses to download the ERA App or use the website form with a special scholarship ID to request a shipping label, with ERA collecting approved items at no charge. Participants can also organize corporate pickups on behalf of ERA for computers, with ERA picking up ten or more computing devices Canada-wide and offering hard drive destruction. Another option is to organize community or collection events for computers and electronics.
Accepted items include cell phones, tablets, laptops, computers, servers, monitors, networking equipment, gaming consoles, and similar electronics, but no household or personal electronics or TVs. Participants should promote the event online, in their neighborhood, at their school, at a business, in a community center, their local mall, or through their own ideas.
The winner will be decided based on the quantity and quality of equipment collected and the exposure the event received through marketing platforms. Available scholarships for winners include cash prizes up to $10,000 and a MacBook Pro.
The competition is open to students who reside within Canada. You may enter the competition on January 1st, 2025, with final results needing to be in by September 30th, 2025. No purchase is necessary to enter. ERA will announce the winners in November 2025 on their social media platforms and website, although this is subject to change. ERA will contact the winners directly, and if a winner does not respond within one week, they will be disqualified. If you win, you will be tagged in all related communications. The MacBook Pro awarded is a refurbished unit. By entering the competition, you grant ERA ownership rights to all submitted marketing material, which they can use as they wish. This includes any social media accounts created for the competition, and the passwords for these accounts must be turned over to ERA at the end of the competition, or you will be disqualified.
