The Ireland Against Racism Fund (IARF) provides funding for national, regional, and local projects that aim to combat racism and promote racial equality and community cohesion. The fund supports the implementation of the National Action Plan Against Racism and its related objectives.
Funding is structured around five thematic pillars: supporting individuals who experience racism and protecting them from racist incidents and crimes; addressing ethnic inequities; enabling minority participation; measuring the impact of racism; and promoting a shared journey toward racial equality.
There are two schemes under this fund. Scheme A is for national and regional projects, offering grants ranging from €40,000 to €100,000. It is intended for a small number of NGOs working with minority ethnic communities to address racism, promote inclusion, and enhance their role in decision-making. These projects should begin before 31 December 2025 and be completed by 30 November 2026.
Scheme B supports smaller, local projects with grants between €5,000 and €10,000. These initiatives should also work with minority communities to advance racial inclusion and must be completed by 30 November 2026.
Eligibility for Scheme A is limited to NGOs and community organisations focused on national or regional activities. Scheme B is also open to NGOs and community organisations but targets smaller local efforts. Both schemes aim to ensure that minority communities are empowered and included in shaping the policies and actions that affect them.
