Are you an ambitious African student or recent graduate passionate about shaping economic policy across the continent? The Africa Macroeconomic Analysts Program (AMAP) is now open for applications for its 2025 cohort. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain advanced skills in macroeconomic analysis, policy development, and data-driven decision-making.
AMAP is a flagship initiative focused on building the next generation of Africa’s economic leaders. Through a combination of intensive training, applied research, real-world policy engagement, and mentorship, participants are equipped to analyze and respond to major economic challenges across Africa.
The program’s core objectives are to strengthen macroeconomic analytical skills, enhance practical policy analysis through research, and provide career mentorship and networking opportunities. It is open to students and recent graduates from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Rwanda, Kenya, Zambia, and South Africa.
To be eligible, applicants must be in their final year of undergraduate study or have recently graduated in Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related social science field. A First-Class or Second-Class Upper (2:1) degree is preferred, though exceptional candidates with a 2:2 may also be considered.
Applicants are required to submit a Curriculum Vitae (CV), an unofficial or official transcript, and two original essays. All essays must be written solely by the applicant. The use of AI-generated content (such as from ChatGPT or similar tools) is strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate disqualification.
This is an exceptional opportunity for young Africans to deepen their understanding of macroeconomic policy and play a role in shaping the future of the continent’s economic governance.
