Nominations are now open for the Community Project of the Year Award to encourage and assist a community group to undertake a significant project in their community.
The grant will be awarded to a group, or groups, who demonstrate the significant impact or benefit the project will contribute to their community.
Award Details
- Projects in this category may be considered for funding and grants up to a maximum grant of €10,000 (or 70% of the project cost). You may be required to show that you can provide the 30% match funding.
- The €10,000 award may be subdivided among up to three projects in accordance with the merits of applications received.
Conditions
- Groups/Organisations can only apply for one project; multiple applicants will not be accepted.
- Decisions will be weighed in favour of those projects that provide details of their project including aims and objectives.
- The Award Evaluation Committee’s decision will be final.
- The benefit of the project to the local community will be assessed.
- Groups applying must be affiliated to Westmeath Public Participation Network.
- Specific conditions may be attached to the grant award.
- Recipients will be asked for a report on completion of the projects.
- Tax Number or Charity Number is required for all grants.
- All funded projects/activities must be located within County Westmeath.
- Salary costs are ineligible for funding.
- If successful, it is a requirement of all grant funding that Westmeath County Council is acknowledged as a source of funding in any publications, leaflets, signage, online etc, or minuted in treasurers report, committee meeting or AGM. (The official Westmeath County Council logo in an approved format is available by contacting the Community Development Office).
