Deadline: 02-Oct-2025
The Port Coquitlam Community Foundation is seeking applications for its Professional Development Grant to support qualifying individuals, groups and organizations that offer high-quality arts and heritage initiatives for Port Coquitlam residents.
The CCD Investment Program is a funding opportunity that supports arts, heritage, and culture to build the capacity of artists and cultural organizations, support initiatives in Port Coquitlam, and create a healthy, engaged, and vibrant community.
The CCD Investment Program acknowledges the contribution made by arts, heritage, and culture within Port Coquitlam and assists in its development. The program’s purpose is to demonstrate municipal leadership, encourage and support quality cultural activities, increase public appreciation and participation, promote the development of specific communities through art, and stimulate excellence in cultural programming. The program is available to organizations that meet the category criteria, but an application does not automatically result in financial assistance.
Under the Professional Development Program Overview, individual artists, administrators, and board members of arts, culture, and heritage organizations that serve Port Coquitlam can apply for up to $1,000 for their professional development. Eligible artists and administrators must have completed their basic training, and artists must have a modest body of work with some local recognition. Board members must be volunteering for a not-for-profit organization that serves Port Coquitlam. All services and activities receiving assistance should benefit Port Coquitlam and be inclusive and non-discriminatory. Organizations located in Port Coquitlam and mandated to serve the municipality have priority, though region-serving groups may be considered if they demonstrate relevance and do not duplicate services.
Initiatives are not funded retroactively, so applicants should apply with sufficient lead time. All project costs incurred before a grant agreement is signed are ineligible. Applicants may submit more than one application per year as long as the request is not for the same project. All categories require a final report and financial statements to ensure accountability. Recipients must acknowledge the Port Coquitlam Community Foundation and the City of Port Coquitlam Community Fund in all promotional materials. A standard of excellence in ethical behavior is expected, including safety training and necessary protocols when involving the public.
