Deadline: 30-Oct-2025
The Queensland Government has opened applications for the Empowering Queensland Women grant program, offering financial support for community-led initiatives that promote gender equality and improve the economic security of women and girls across the state.
The program places particular focus on addressing the barriers that limit women’s and girls’ ability to achieve financial independence and long-term economic wellbeing.
The EQW grant program is designed to equip community groups and organisations with resources to develop and deliver projects that create real impact. Eligible initiatives may include programs that improve financial literacy, boost digital skills and safety, support upskilling and reskilling opportunities, or offer pathways to career advancement through mentoring and networking. Projects must demonstrate a clear link to improving economic security for women and girls.
Successful applicants can receive one-off grant funding of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) for initiatives that are delivered within a six-month timeframe from the signing of the contract. All initiatives must take place within Queensland.
Eligibility is open to incorporated, not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, Indigenous corporations, Queensland universities, and local government authorities. Applicants must also hold an ABN, operate in Queensland, and be in good standing with the Queensland Government, with no outstanding financial or performance issues. They must also either hold or plan to obtain insurance to cover the initiative.
The program is not open to for-profit businesses, sole traders, unincorporated entities, or state-run schools, hospitals, and government departments (excluding Parents and Citizens’ associations).
With a focus on practical, community-driven solutions, the EQW grant presents a timely opportunity for eligible organisations to champion women’s economic empowerment and help build a more inclusive future for all Queenslanders.
