Deadline: 31-Dec-2025
Asia Community Foundation has launched the 30×30 Southeast Asia Ocean Fund, a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to protecting 30 percent of the region’s seas by 2030.
This opportunity is designed to support inclusive, equitable, and effective marine conservation efforts that deliver lasting benefits for both people and nature, with a strong focus on empowering local communities.
Applicants are invited to submit expressions of interest on a rolling basis, with the option to apply in English or local languages. Selected applicants will then be asked to provide full proposals. The Fund encourages international NGOs with country offices to partner with or pass leadership roles to local organisations, ensuring that resources and decision-making remain close to those most directly affected.
Funding will support a wide range of conservation and development efforts, including capacity building, policy development, applied research, sustainable financing, livelihood-focused projects, education, collaborative partnerships, enforcement, and innovative technologies. Grants will range between USD 20,000 and USD 250,000, making it possible to support both smaller community-based interventions and larger multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Eligibility extends to NGOs, civil society organisations, and research institutions, with the Fund placing a priority on coastal frontline communities that face heightened vulnerability from climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental injustices. However, social enterprises, private companies, government bodies, and religious organisations are not eligible to apply directly.
Through the 30×30 Southeast Asia Ocean Fund, Asia Community Foundation is offering a vital opportunity for communities and organisations to access resources, strengthen conservation efforts, and contribute to a shared vision of healthy, thriving seas across the region.
