The U.S. Embassy in Zambia is inviting applications for the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. This ten-month, non-degree program offers experienced professionals an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills through academic study and professional experiences in the United States.
Each year, around 200 Fellowships are awarded, hosted by 18 leading U.S. universities. The program is designed for individuals committed to public service in the public or private sectors, who seek to deepen their understanding of issues affecting both the U.S. and their home countries.
Humphrey Fellows engage in selected university courses, attend conferences, network extensively, and participate in practical work experiences. The program emphasizes a mutual exchange of knowledge and encourages Fellows to explore American culture beyond the host campus, fostering global connections.
The Fellowship covers a range of focus areas including Agricultural and Rural Development, Communications and Journalism, Economic Development, Educational Administration, Finance, Law and Human Rights, Public Health, Technology Policy, and more.
To be eligible, applicants must hold an undergraduate degree and have at least five years of substantial full-time professional experience. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership qualities, a record of community public service, good English skills, and limited prior experience in the United States.
