Deadline: 05-Oct-2025
The Rowell Fund for Tibet is now accepting applications for its 2026 grant cycle to support Tibetans who can make a significant impact in their communities or reach an international audience in the fields of visual arts, media, literature, environmental conservation, and women’s empowerment.
Tibetans are encouraged to apply for grants that provide financial support for initiatives fostering creativity, sustainability, and empowerment. The themes for the grants include Environment and Conservation, Photography, Humanitarian Projects, Journalism and Literature, and Women’s Empowerment.
This initiative aims to empower Tibetans and honor Galen and Barbara’s commitment to Tibet by supporting projects that align with their values and vision. Applicants only need to submit one application per project, and an acknowledgment email will be sent once the application has been received.
The application process consists of three parts. Part A requires a completed application form, which may be downloaded or submitted via Google doc. Part B is a written project summary of no more than 1,000 words, submitted in English, Chinese, or Tibetan, and must be double-spaced. This summary should be a separate document from the application form. Part C requires a detailed budget proposal of no more than one page, clearly outlining how the grant funds will be used. The maximum amount awarded for each grant is US$7,500.
Eligibility for the grants is open to Tibetans from any country. Tibetans working for organizations may also apply on behalf of the organization, provided the applicant is central to implementing the project’s work. Non-Tibetans are not eligible to apply for the Rowell Fund for Tibet. Applications will not be accepted via postal mail in order to ensure timely processing. Applications will be accepted from Friday, September 5, 2025, until Sunday, October 5, 2025, midnight EDT.
