Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
Youthtown provides funding support to not-for-profit groups that are incorporated as charitable organizations or associations promoting charitable purposes.
Support is also extended to incorporated regional and community groups operating in the areas where the funds are generated. Amateur sports organizations affiliated with recognized national bodies are eligible as long as they operate as incorporated community-based groups. National organizations may also apply if they can clearly demonstrate that their projects create tangible benefits for local communities.
The funding is designed to support a wide range of activities that align with Youthtown’s mission. This includes the development and operation of Youthtown programs and facilities, the encouragement of amateur youth sports, and the promotion of youth participation in outdoor and cultural activities such as art, music, and drama. Financial assistance is also available for community-based organizations that directly or indirectly benefit youth, alongside other charitable or non-commercial initiatives that support the wider community.
Certain types of projects and expenses are not covered. Youthtown does not fund costs that have already been incurred, projects that result in commercial gain for a Youthtown venue, or initiatives that serve private, political, or commercial purposes. Other exclusions include projects already supported by other funding sources, multi-year grants, fundraising activities, professional or unaffiliated sports teams, membership or affiliation fees, prizes, catering costs, and horse-racing-related ventures.
Applications are considered by the Youthtown Grants Subcommittee, which meets eleven times a year, excluding January. Proposals submitted online between the first and last day of the month are reviewed in the following month’s meeting. Applicants are notified of results within seven working days after the meeting, and successful grants are usually paid within 7 to 10 days.
Organizations may submit only one successful application each year unless an exception is approved by the Grants Committee for grants up to $50,000 or by the Board for grants exceeding that amount. For larger grants, recipients may be asked to provide evidence of the community benefits generated. It is essential that applications cover future costs only, as retrospective expenses are not considered.
