Deadline: 01-Oct-2025
The Australian Embassy in Vienna is inviting expressions of interest for the 2025–26 Australian Direct Aid Program (DAP) from community groups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and educational institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This small grants program, funded by the Australian Government and managed through its overseas missions, aims to support local community efforts towards poverty reduction and sustainable development.
Organisations may apply for a single project grant of up to AUD 7,500 for the 2025–26 Australian financial year, which runs from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. The program focuses on small-scale development projects and activities that promote youth empowerment, women’s empowerment, inclusion and democracy, and human rights.
Eligible activities should clearly demonstrate their expected developmental impact and be self-contained, with a timeline beginning no earlier than 1 March 2026 and concluding no later than 31 December 2026. Projects that involve significant community contributions in terms of labour, materials, or financing are particularly encouraged. Additionally, initiatives that can serve as models for similar developments elsewhere or act as catalysts for further community development are welcomed.
The Embassy will not fund internal staff salaries, commercial ventures, cash grants or micro-credit schemes, purchase of major assets such as vehicles or land, international travel including study tours, major sporting tournaments or cultural displays, or routine administrative expenses like office rental and utility costs.
Only applicants who reach the short-listing phase will be contacted and asked to provide further information, including a fully costed project budget and two recent referees.
