The Aziz Foundation is seeking application for its grant program to support charitable activities, usually to registered charities or charitable community groups, but sometimes to other bodies or individuals authorised by Board of Trustees.
The focus of the foundation’s work is in identifying and addressing the challenges faced by disadvantaged communities; developing new leadership from within these communities, and enabling them to participate positively in wider society.
Objectives
- The advancement of education
- The advancement of good citizenship and community development
- The advancement of human rights, equality and diversity, conflict resolution and reconciliation, and the promotion of religious and racial harmony
- The prevention and relief of poverty and the relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage
- Such other charitable purposes for the public benefit as are exclusively charitable according to the laws of England and Wales as the Board of Trustees from time to time may determine.
Priority Areas
- Community Empowerment – This includes projects that address migration (particularly child migration), care for the elderly, palliative care and homelessness.
- Leadership Development –This includes projects that enhance leadership skills among people from disadvantaged communities and help lessen the gap between those communities and wider society.
- Public Engagement – This includes projects that strengthen the representatpeople ion and voice of from disadvantaged communities in wider society, address their own needs and contribute to all aspects of public life in the UK.
Funding Information
Applications should be for grants between £500-15,000 (restrictions apply) and should seek to address the disadvantage faced by Black communities, Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, refugee or White working class communities. Please note that we only fund work that takes place in the UK.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to not-for-profit and charitable organisations. However, in exceptional circumstances, bodies or individuals working outside of a registered status may be supported as and when authorised by the Board of Trustees.
