Deadline: 02-Sep-2025
The Australian Embassy in the Republic of Palau is inviting applications for the Direct Aid Program (DAP), a flexible, small grants initiative funded by the Australian Government to support non-government organisations and community groups engaged in development projects.
The program focuses on community and rural development, education, gender equality, health and disability inclusion, sports development, youth empowerment, human rights promotion, environmental protection, economic empowerment initiatives, agricultural development, and targeted humanitarian relief efforts. Priority is given to projects that involve community contributions in labour, materials, transport, or cash, can be completed sustainably within 12 months, and provide educational or vocational training with clear plans for measuring success.
DAP is designed to fund initiatives that deliver a direct, practical, and immediate impact. Projects that demonstrate strong alignment with these thematic areas, active community participation, and tangible benefits are more likely to receive funding.
Funding support ranges from a minimum of $10,000 to a maximum of $30,000. All proposals must include a fully costed project budget. While the program supports a broad spectrum of activities, it generally does not fund microcredit schemes, commercial ventures, property purchases, routine running costs, staff salaries, overseas study tours, or international travel.
Applications must be submitted online through the official grant portal by Tuesday, 2 September 2025, at 4:00 pm (Palau Time). The Australian Embassy encourages early submissions and careful attention to the guidelines to ensure proposals meet all requirements.
