Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
Uttlesford District Council (UDC) is inviting applications for its Rural Communities and Tourism Fund. This program aims to support micro, small, and medium-sized businesses or organisations situated within the Uttlesford area.
The fund offers capital grants to support small-scale investments in rural enterprises. This includes support for net zero infrastructure projects and initiatives that help farm businesses diversify into non-agricultural activities, such as converting buildings into commercial spaces.
Additional funding is available for non-farmer owned food processing businesses to help them expand or diversify. The fund also supports the development and promotion of the local visitor economy, both to trade and consumers.
Capital grants of up to £15,000 are available to help develop community facilities. These include grants for local tourist attractions, rural tourism activities, visitor trails, and supporting infrastructure like information boards.
Funding is also available for developing, restoring, or refurbishing natural, cultural, and heritage sites. While full project costs can be funded, applications with match funding — including in-kind contributions like staff time or volunteer hours — are encouraged to ensure value for public spending.
Applicants will be assessed on their ability to deliver measurable outcomes. Proposals must include specific, quantifiable outputs such as the number of jobs created.
To be eligible, applicants must be micro, small, or medium-sized businesses or organisations located within the Uttlesford area.
