Deadline: 05-Jan-2026
The Loeb/ArtLab Fellowship Program invites applications from urban designers, public artists, developers, journalists, civic leaders, architects, landscape architects, urban planners, policymakers, and community development leaders.
The selection process is conducted by a committee that includes three faculty members from the GSD, three alumni of the Loeb Fellowship, two outside practitioners, and the curator of the program. Approximately 20 shortlisted applicants will be chosen by the end of February, with notifications sent in early March.
Shortlisted candidates will undergo up to three interviews with the curator, a committee member, and someone knowledgeable about the program. The final selection of 9 or 10 fellows will be made in mid-April, with results shared by the end of April. Candidates interested in the Loeb/ArtLab Fellowship will also be reviewed by ArtLab, and may be considered for a joint fellowship if they meet the criteria.
The application process is managed online through SlideRoom and remains open from fall until early January for the following academic year. Applicants are required to submit an application, three letters of recommendation, and a resume. Supplemental materials, such as articles, books, videos, or visual representations, are optional but strongly encouraged. There is no fee to apply.
Recommenders will be contacted directly via the online system, and letters from colleagues, clients, collaborators, and others familiar with the applicant’s work will hold the greatest value. Resumes should include detailed work history, with educational qualifications listed only if applicable.
Applicants may also submit up to five supplemental documents to illustrate their work. Previous applicants must reapply with a new application, resume, and updated materials. While recommendation letters from the immediate previous year will be considered, at least one new letter is strongly recommended.
The deadline for applications is 5 January 2026.
