Deadline: 29-Sep-2025
The Engagement Award Program is currently accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) for its Dissemination Initiative funding opportunity. This initiative supports projects that help organizations and communities share PCORI-funded research findings with key audiences such as patients, families, caregivers, and the broader healthcare community. The goal is to present the information in engaging ways that encourage its use in healthcare decision-making.
Applicants may request funding up to $300,000. The maximum duration for a project is two years.
Both nonprofit and for-profit organizations are eligible to apply, as long as they are based in the United States and have a Federal Employer Identification Number assigned by the IRS. Applicants must be able to comply with the standard agreement terms related to the funding opportunity. Individuals are not eligible to apply.
Foreign organizations or nondomestic branches of U.S. entities may be considered if they demonstrate how their projects will benefit the U.S. healthcare system and actively engage U.S.-based patients and stakeholders.
Certain types of projects will not be funded. These include those that do not focus clearly on patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER), conduct cost-effectiveness analyses, or focus only on patient engagement in healthcare rather than in research. Projects that design or test healthcare interventions, involve drugs or medical devices, or aim to create clinical guidelines or decision support tools are also ineligible.
Additionally, projects that focus solely on quality measures or improvements, or that involve clinical trial recruitment and enrollment, will not be considered for funding under this program.
