The Environmental Studies Association of Canada (ESAC) has announced a call for nominations for the annual Environmental Community’s Organizer Award (ECO-Award) to honor an individual, team, or organization which has positively contributed to the field of environmental studies in Canada through community-building, research, knowledge-to-action, or innovations in practice or approaches.
Selection of the award will be made by ESAC’s Awards Committee. Winners will be notified by the end of May and officially announced and honored at ESAC’s 2022 annual conference
Selection Criteria
The ECO-Award selection committee will evaluate nominees based on the following criteria:
- The nominee works within the field of environmental studies in Canada;
- The nominee contributes to community-building within the field of environmental studies through the creation of partnerships, networks, relationships, and projects;
- The nominee demonstrates collaborative and reciprocal relationships and partnerships to address issues of importance to the field of environmental studies;
- The nominee increases environmental awareness through knowledge-sharing and outreach activities;
- The nominee encourages environmental action and empowers and supports others to become involved in activities related to the field of environmental studies; and
- The nominee promotes the mobilization of knowledge and research to action and practice.
Prize
- The 2022 ECO-Award winner will receive a $750 honorarium and the runner-up will receive $250.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominations for or applications from individuals, groups, or organizations working in interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral teams to advance the field of environmental studies through the development, enhancement, or expansion of innovative collaborations and networks.
