The Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC) is proud to launch the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 3.0, 2025.
This funding opportunity offers $ 8 million in investment to support Black mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) charitable and non-profit organizations across Canada.
Black-led, Black-mandated, and Black-serving (B3) organizations across Canada now have a valuable opportunity to access funding tailored to their unique needs and stage of development through the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 3.0. With three flexible funding streams available, the grant aims to empower Black communities by supporting core operations, launching or expanding programs, and investing in community infrastructure.
Organizations can apply for one of three funding streams. The Core Stream offers up to $30,000 to support day-to-day operations and core functions unrelated to specific programming. This stream is ideal for organizations looking to strengthen their foundation and build long-term sustainability. The Catapult Stream provides up to $80,000 for those ready to invest in new initiatives or scale up existing programs and services. Meanwhile, the Community Spaces Stream delivers up to $200,000 for capital projects and infrastructure that enhance physical spaces and community access.
Eligible initiatives must be led by B3 organizations and align with at least one of the grant’s core focus areas, while also contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals and addressing the Social Determinants of Health.
Whether focused on social equity, economic empowerment, or community wellbeing, this grant offers Black organizations the resources and flexibility to advance their mission and deliver meaningful impact. By choosing the funding stream that best matches their current needs and goals, applicants have the opportunity to turn bold ideas into transformative action.
