Deadline: 11-Aug-2025
The Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is now accepting proposals from civil society organisations in Armenia as part of the Building Resilience in the Eastern Neighbourhood II (BREN II) programme.
Funded by the UK, BREN II aims to strengthen human security for women and other marginalised groups through civil society-led initiatives across the Eastern Neighbourhood. In Armenia, the programme emphasizes advancing the Women, Peace & Security (WPS) agenda.
Priority areas include supporting and localizing the Armenian National Action Plan on UN Security Council Resolution 1325, especially outside Yerevan. Projects may focus on advocacy, building connections between civil society and government actors, increasing women’s participation in peace and security discussions, and including displaced women and girls affected by conflict in Nagorno–Karabakh.
Eligible projects can involve awareness campaigns, informal education, media and research outputs, curriculum development, and capacity building of CSOs and women’s organisations. Efforts to promote gender equality and document the needs of displaced or vulnerable communities are also encouraged.
IWPR will provide grants ranging from GBP 30,000 to 50,000, for projects lasting up to 9 months, with all activities to be completed by 31 May 2026.
Supported activities include the production of educational and media materials, advocacy with authorities, community-based knowledge building, stakeholder training, and coalition-building for long-term impact.
Applications are open to any registered civil society organisation in Armenia that has not previously received BREN funding. IWPR strongly encourages applications from women-led, youth-led, displaced or minority-led organisations, groups based outside Yerevan, particularly in border areas, and newly established organisations.
