The Life & Peace Institute (LPI), in partnership with Mercy Corps Kenya and Pastoralist Concern, invites Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) to apply for small grants under the EU-funded Mobility and Movement (M&M) Project.
Through the EU-funded “Mobility and Movement” initiative, modest grants ranging from €500 to €2,000 are available to jumpstart projects that can uplift communities across this divided yet deeply connected region. Women‑ and youth‑led groups are especially encouraged to step forward and apply—an inclusive call that signals both the importance of diverse leadership and the power of fresh ideas to drive peace, resilience, and opportunity.
This grant program invites inventive, locally‑driven proposals that can shape a more peaceful future. Projects spanning peacebuilding, climate resilience, livelihoods, gender equality, and social inclusion are all within its scope, opening space for creative approaches tailored to local priorities. Whether it’s fostering dialogue across cultural lines or supporting sustainable income ventures attuned to pastoralist lifestyles, this initiative reflects a deep respect for community wisdom and context.
The relatively limited amount of funding ensures that small‑scale yet high‑impact ideas have a chance to take root, making this grant a catalyst for swift, grassroots transformation. It’s an opportunity to leverage modest resources for meaningful change—especially for groups energized by purpose, community connection, and tangible outcomes.
Embedded in this call is an affirmation of the resilience and creativity that can emerge from borderlands marked by both challenge and opportunity. For local organisations in Moyale on either side of the border, this funding mechanism offers more than financial support—it offers validation, visibility, and momentum. In these landscapes where mobility, culture, and ecology intertwine, the potential for projects to resonate deeply with local realities is vast.
By channeling EU support through local partners and grounded organisations, this call exemplifies how international solidarity can amplify local agency rather than overshadow it. It’s a modest investment in ideas that already live within communities—an investment that can yield ripples of peace, cooperation, and shared prosperity.
