Deadline: 10-Aug-2025
GaneshAID has launched the KLIC Catalyst Grant Program to support innovative, locally adapted solutions that address two major challenges in primary health care (PHC) systems in low- and middle-income countries. The grant focuses on creative and equity-centered interventions to improve community engagement and leadership capacity within health services.
The initiative builds on insights from KLIC2024, which identified two recurring obstacles in PHC and immunization programs: weak community engagement and insufficient leadership and management capacity. Weak community engagement includes low vaccination uptake and limited involvement of fathers in child health decisions. KLIC2024 emphasized the need for culturally relevant strategies to involve men as champions of health equity. The second challenge is weak leadership and management, which hinders effective innovation and coordination. Participants called for capacity building and long-term support in leadership, management, and governance (LMG).
This Request for Proposals invites pilot projects that address these issues through innovative approaches. Projects may aim to educate and engage men in vaccination and PHC uptake or strengthen leadership and management capacity at frontline and subnational levels. Each project should be implemented within three months of signing the agreement.
Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to selected proposals. Funds must be used solely for project activities as outlined in the approved plan and budget. At the end of the grant period, grantees must submit a Midterm Progress Report by October 15, 2025, and a fully developed, tested prototype with documentation by December 5, 2025.
Eligible activities include developing and testing community-based or digital tools, implementing coaching and training programs, creating educational or communication materials, and conducting monitoring and documentation efforts.
The call is open to local civil society organizations, NGOs, youth groups, community organizations, startups, academic institutions, and individual innovators, particularly those working in LMICs. Applicants must have relevant experience and the capacity to manage a 3-month project. They should also demonstrate a strong understanding of local health systems and be willing to share results and lessons learned, with a chance to present at KLIC2025 in Hanoi.
